I put a cheap Dan Moto on mine and I can't tell any difference in performance either way. It mostly just makes it louder. Its still a ton quieter than most bikes though, even with an open exhaust.
Did a 300 mile loop around Florida's Lake Okeechobee. Believe it or not, but there were some hills and turns! I had a buddy with and some of the were not kind to his Harley. It made me appreciate the NC's "go anywhere" swiss army knife build.
I put a DanMoto on mine and have been nothinh but happy. Not overly loud and no "rolling fart" noise. LED running lights were the best thing Ive done for visibility.
I dont want to really post links, but I got them from Amazon. Just search for "Cree U7 lights". They are sold under many brands but Im sure are all made at the same place in China. Just check to make sure they dont ship right from there to save shipping time.
I cant answer for the 700s, but I have the 700x. I'm 5'10" with a 30" inseam, the preload maxed out and rox risers. I can exactly flat foot it (with almost no kbee nmbend left) and the ergos are completely neutral.

The laser that make it glow red shoot almost straight up. If you are more than 30ft away you cant see red. Maybe if you got down level with it and were absolutely perfectly centered with it.
There is a lot more light spill than the picture shows. I'm going to re-aim the beams a but so they dont all converge. I was shooting from the hip on install because it mounts the same as the blinkers.
I'm going to try the diodes in the near future. I thought about doing the highbeams wired to...
I decided that I wasn't a fan of the "shrek ears signals and replaced them with angel eye Aux lights. Besides removing all the plastic the process was fairly easy if you have basic soldering skills. The LED lights are super bright when on, and the angel eyes are eye catching as running lights...
Just got my 2012 NC700X last week. Had only 7200 miles on it and all the farkles I need (so far...). Only taken out for about 300 miles before I had to hide her away from Irma.
