I bought one last week. Traded in my NC700 dct. I like it very much...probably because it is so much like the R1100GS that I still have. I agree with Griff's overall assessment. This will probably be my last motorcycle purchase other than possibly a Honda Trail 125 for carrying on my camper...
Rode my NC to the local Tucson bike shop and sat on this Moto Guzzi V85tt ...I really like it but it $2k less expensive in San Diego. I have issues with my NC's ground clearance when riding on rocky roads. I can afford the $13K Sandy Eggo price but I'm actually liking my NC except for the lack...
I installed just the foam for the Seat Concepts Low version. The stock seat cover reinstalled over it just fine. I went on a 1 hour ride and it was much more comfortable than stock. After doing this, though, I wish I had tried just reshaping the stock foam a bit by rounding over those...
You will love riding with a DCT. I just got one because of arthritis in my left hand and now I got that old feeling back whenever I put on the helmet and ride. That feeling must be just like what a dog feels like with his head out the car window and there are many interesting scents in the air!
I had the same thoughts when installing them...good for wind, bugs, and debris deflection but no crash protection because of just 2 screws holding them in place. But I am not going to be doing serious off-roading anymore...too old. LOL
PapaC, I had trouble posting pics, too. Click on the insert image icon, then find your photo on your ipad in the pop up, when it shows up select upload. good luck! I am a WA native...Richland :)
Bought inexpensive JFG Handguards on Amazon yesterday. They were delivered this evening and went on without any adjustments. They miss the parking brake even...thought I would need to do some bending, but nope.

Thanks! I never knew the name...only a few words in the lyrics, Like "I'ld rather be hammer than a nail" and "I like to feel the earth beneath my feet"
With a little rooting around I found that Skeleton up in Canada provided the answer years ago. It looks like I can still add more preload to where there are about 12 threads showing at the top. I will try to measure the sag with my bike loaded for camping and cold weather clothes.
Thanks. Yes, it was lowered a bunch. I dropped the forks back to where they are only about 1/2" from being fully dropped and seems to be pretty good now. I only have a 30" inseam so don't want to get the seat height too high to where I'm on my toes when stopped. So far, with increasing the...
Thanks for sharing your clip! You are as talented at videography as you are at design/fabrication. I really enjoyed seeing Vietnam, what a beautiful country. I'm glad that the long war didn't completely devastate it! I have a friend who is exploring Laos right now on his 250 Honda. I was...
John O, I sympathize with the advancing years and arthritis...I just traded in my dual sport for a 2016 with DCT because of arthritis. I'm liking this bike a lot. I also am not up to muscling a tall dual sport anymore...used to have a WR250R...light but really tall for my 29" inseam LOL.
My new to me 2016 had been lowered to the max so I raised it back up to near stock height and also put more preload on the rear spring. It must have been set up for a lady most likely. At least it has Soupy's adjustable lowering links and kickstand, so it was pretty easy to do. Test drive was to...
