I have been fascinated with tanks since I was a kid so this morning I took a ride and found this one. I have always thought that the M60 was one of the nicest looking tanks. Now if only I could find a Tiger...

I've heard Bovington in UK has a running Tiger, get your flight tickets and go see for yourself :)
Nice picture! If you have more NCs with tanks, it's better than a porn to me :D

where was the OP photo taken? Patton museum in the California desert?

It was taken in Pittsburg, CA, about 15 miles from where I live. It's in a small veterans' memorial park.

I have seen a couple of Tigers in France. I lived and went to school in he South of France and someone told me about a great tank museum in the Loire Valley so years later I was on my honeymoon in France and my wife wanted to see the Loire Valley so I made a deal - Castles for her and tanks for me. The tank museum (Le Musée des Blindés) is in Saumur and it is a tank lover's dream. I think it has more armored vehicles than Bovington including the only operational King Tiger in the world. I got there at noon and the museum was closed but the French Army captain in charge of the museum could see I was a serious tank nut and that I spoke French well so he let me in and gave me a one-on-one guided tour. My wife went off window shopping and I spent almost two hours talking tanks and strolling through the tourist-free museum. He even let me climb on the tanks which was strictly verboten. I even got up on the King Tiger which was gargantuan. When the tour was over he gave me a snappy salute and wished me well. I will never forget his perfectly pressed uniform and how proud he was of his museum - and rightfully so. He really went out of his way for an American tourist and it was much appreciated.

We finished our trip and saw plenty of beautiful castles but my fondest memory is of the tank museum.

Here is a pic of the T-shirt that I bought there.
