? Texas weather mid to late October ?

Thinking about riding to south Texas-Big Bend area after Barber Vintage Days. Mostly camping. Will probably also go to Fredricksburg-Enchanted Rock while in state. Last time I was there was April so don't know what to expect in October. Will depart rally Oct 13 in AM and head South. No planned route-just look at a MAP and ride the backroads. Anybody welcome to come along all or part of way.

October and November are good months to ride in Texas, as just starting to cool down. I hope to be back in one piece by then, I do like that ride. So, half way count me in, depending on my health.

I just "mapped and directioned" it. 721 miles from my house to Big Bend State Park. It's a definite maybe for me. My daughter lives in Midland TX (why? beats me). I could go through there and see her.
I like that time of the year for riding!

Good info guys. As you well know it not much fun riding when its 100°. Oct. will be here soon. Will be in touch. Will post back on this thread when closer to date...

Typically, the weather there in October should be more settled than it is in April. Less chances of severe weather. However, daytime temps in Big Bend can reach 90F + easily, even in October.
