Just got some Barkbuster handguards. The instructiions for the right side tell me to "remove the throttle twist grip". Anyone ever done this? How difficult is it? What are the steps? Do you have to disconnect the cable? Etc.

I am trying to figure out why you need to remove the throttle grip to install barkbusters. I had to move mine up the handlebar a bit to get to the two release pins to take the end-weight anchor out, but I did not remove it. I loosened the brake lever perch and moved it up the bar and then unbolted the two halves of the RH control housing and spread them a bit in order to get the pin in the controls housing to come out of its locating hole.
