If there was 1 thing you could change or tell Honda about the NC what would it be?

I was going to throw the seat away (for a Russell) anyway, so throwing away a better one wouldn't have made anything better for me. Though I would have happily paid for it, with their positioning of the NC as a budget priced motorcycle, I would expect that they would not even consider a nice WP suspension with USD forks. More power? meh. I'll take the mileage. What I really wish they would have done is set it up with a 19 inch front wheel so that more ADV tire choices were available.

FWIW, though nobody asked, I think they made the opposite wrong choice with the tire and wheel options for the upcoming Africa Twin (21 inch tube type). The 17 inch cast alloys are nearly pure street and the 21 inch tubed spokes are nearly pure dirt. Most of the ADV offerings come (for good reason) with 19 inch front wheels (the best of which are tubeless spoked). Offering both (as KTM and Triumph have done) is a great choice.

Hydraulic valve actuators and shaft drive costs money. Additional ground clearance with longer suspension means the standard 32.7" towering seat height would become stratospheric which will take some new riders and most women out of the equation. And let's face it, they never intended the NC700X to be ridden off-road - they just wanted the look.

Saddle.
Oh, and I wish I didn't have to cringe over minor pavement imperfections; I know it's to a price point but my girlfriends CB500F has better suspension.

This is a "DREAM THREAD"

This is not a dollars and cents thread, but a "what if", "cost is no object", dream thread! The sky's the limit!
Dream On!
Stop being practical! :p

Then let's have:
50 more HP 50 # weight reduction
2" more front and rear suspension travel
19" front wheel with spokes but tubeless
Fully adjustable suspension with 8" of ground clearance
ABS and Traction control with on/off switch
Shaft drive
Cruise control
70 MPG
Full luggage set
All with a $7500 price tag

Oops....... :D:confused:..OP said we can only change ONE thing........never mind.......OK

Let's upgrade the suspension.

I've never owned a motorcycle before where I felt the need to carry extra fuel along. Although the fuel economy of the NC is great, it can get ugly really quick with higher speeds and a stiff headwind. The number one thing I'd want changed is a better designed tail section that includes a 4.8 to 5 gallon fuel tank, instead of all that air space above the rear wheel. Besides that I think the tail design looks stupid anyway.

I have a long list of things that I would like to be done to the NC700X as design improvements, most of which have been mentioned here already.
If I were to pick a single thing, like this Post has asked for, it would have the to be the following.

DCT models to have more than just one "Sport Mode" and a "Teach" function for the rider to set the desired shift points.

If it can only be 1 thing to change, it would be an extra 25 horsepower, so it would have 80ish hp. That would have definately made me get an NC for the third time. :)
