2018: What did you do to/with your NC700 today?

I paid 7k for my 2015 a year ago, and that was the best deal I found without driving a long way to buy. 5K seems like a good deal.

Yes, but the $5K advertised price means nothing until you find out what their freight, handling, shipping, setup, documentation, inspection, assembly, and mandatory surcharge fees are.

And this is what drives me up a wall when dealing with a dealer. I'm constantly saying 'give me the out the door price', to which they often say 'that's not how we do things'.
OK, by.
Seriously, this niggling is what keeps me on used cycles. Just give me the number, dammit!

Just gotta keep after them - ask until you pin them down. There are still some dealers that will work with you on your terms but they’re hard to find. May have to expand your search to some out of town dealers a couple hours away. They seem to be more willing to try to pull one in from another trade area if that’s the only way they’ll get your business. And to them it’s a customer they probably won’t ever see again due to distance. Nothing to lose, so to speak. At least that was what my experience has been. Last bike I bought like that with just a phone call. Told him where I was and my shopping experience up to that point and he gave me the OTD price. Gave him a card number to hold it and took a nice drive to pick it up. No surprises when I got there. Just a solid guy who knew what he had to have and moved a bike that day to a customer he never would have had otherwise.

Today I got my Amazon box with the Air Hawk 2 seat cushion. Quick install and off I went into the mountains. There is a Army base here, Ft Huachuca, and the main road goes straight through and out threw back to a really fun ride into the foothills. Left out the gate a few miles and there is Parker Canyon reservoir. Right and it takes you down and out of the foothills to a long straight road to Sonoita, Az. It's a little 5 restaurant town at junction 82 and 83 highways.
Anyways, the seat makes all the difference in the world and I would highly recommend it. I had watched a couple YouTube video reviews on them and knew not to jump on it with the seat fully blown up. I started out at half full and it was great. It made it seem like I would never have to pull over, it was so comfortable. The large fits the 700x really well.

Cheap cruise control

Been using this for last 6 months and works perfect. So for those with hand issues or numbness in arm, I highly suggest (Dave). Shoelace would do trick as well! For all military, you should have some of these laying around.

Interesting concept... I got rid of all mine and just had it sewn in or used the Velcro ones.

If you're still able to purchase from px/bx, try it out. Grip well for cruise and easy when turning off gas.

The PO of the bike I bought gave me a gas can with about half a tank of gas in it. I dumped it in the bike today. I put the little yellow cap from the gas can down next to the fuel hole, and it promptly fell down inside the plastics....

Off came the seat, grab handle, and loosen the luggage rack. That's an hour of my life I'll never get back....

There are multiple washers and bolts down in my plastics, unless they have wiggled there way out.

After the second time this happened to me with parts, I got smart: RAM-PRO 22" Flexible Grabber Pickup Tool, Retractable Claw Retriever Stick, Snake & Cable Aid, Use to Grab Trash & a Drain Auger to Unclog Hair from Drains, Sink, Toilet & Clean Dryer Vents - - Amazon.com
Also get a little magnetic one. :)

First ride of the season!

I reactivated the insurance on the bike and drove it a few miles to the drugstore and back to get a few items. 42 degrees out.
We're still in an overnight freeze / daytime thaw cycle so there is ice / salt / sand on the road in some places.
The new brakes worked great as did the new Road 5 tires. The new LED headlight and turn signals look awesome on the road.

The NC700 is all cleaned up, ready to be trailered 500 miles to Bike Week Daytona, leaving Wednesday night from B'ham. I know......I know.........I'm not a "real biker" by trailering down, but I'm camping the 4 days and don't have space for everything, and traveling solo. I figure if I fall over at a redlight (while waiting in the bumper-to-bumper Bike Week Traffic), and break a leg......that I can still drive my truck/trailer home in a cast.....!!! :p
