Decided I needed more air, and cut another inch off my shorty shield, making it a total of 4" shorter than stock. I think this will do now lol.

Finally starting to address the seat issue. I am good for 2-3 hours on the stock seat, then the old tail bone starts to ache. I figured I would try the Air Hawk and see what good it does for me. If this doesn't help extend my riding time, I may have to invest in a custom seat. Can't say I like the look of it, but test sitting does feel ok. Wish me luck on the cheap fix!

Good luck with the Air Hawk. I tried one on a couple of my bikes, and no matter how tight I secured it the dang thing slid around like crazy whenever I moved the bike in other than a smooth straight, level line. Twisty curves and steep hills were very interesting with the sensation of the seat sliding out from under me. Maybe I was doing it wrong, but I could never get it to stop sliding so I returned it. The seats I tried it on were not particularly slick, and I had no problems sliding when the Air Hawk was removed.

I had the same experience with that and also with a gel pad. I described as sitting on a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, The bottom piece of bread never stays lined up with the top piece of bread.

One of these came by Fedex today.
I wanted something lighter and smaller in addition to my Givi V47NN

I like the smaller size top boxes on my NCs with my favorite being the Givi B33. It looks best on a silver or black bike. Too bad they discontinued it. I kept it when I sold my 2015.

Tidy rear brake light mount
Rear inner fender
Front fender extension

USB/ 12Volt ports
Renthall Grips
Hand guards
Adjustable lever blades
Side stand foot
Larger windshield and mount
Head light grill
Phone mount.
And today working on the Aux light setup.
Thinking I've got it pretty much cover for this month.

Warning : rant !
Usual commute. One of too many red lights (DCT FTW). About 4 cars in each of the two lanes, plenty of space between to filter to the front (CA FTW), and good light timing to not even put the foot down. One of those little things that brightens the commute.
As I slow down with about 100 yards to go and, coming from the center of the right lane, centering myself on the paint to filter, the Audi cruising the left lane 20 yards behind starts revving up and getting really close to my rear. I'm still slowing down to time the light, he starts pulling a bit to his left, still accelerating, so he can try to go around me... when he has 4 stopped cars in his lane at a red light less than 30 yards ahead !
I put out my left hand (not my finger, but the temptation was strong) to point out he's being stupid, and he finally jumps on the brakes to avoid rear-ending the cars. I time the green, and GTFO from the moron.

What the <bleep> is wrong with some people ?

Not enough chlorine in the gene pool…

Saw a screw in the tire the other day. Prepared myself mentally to take it out today and deal with the consequences. Thankfully it was so small there is no issue.
Interesting. I am on a 6000 mile trip. 1500 miles in, I found a nail head showing in the rear tire. I nervously removed the nail and luckily it was broken and only about 3/8 inch long. No air leaked. I'm fortunate the tire is new and the tread is thick. However, had I not found it, as the tire wore it may have pushed the nail all the way through the tire carcass.

Glad to hear about the happy ending. I can spot you some garage space if you get to the West Coast if that would be helpful for your adventure...a lot of if's... Happy adventuring :)

Today I broke camp in Gros Morne National Park, and headed up the Viking Trail to the north end of Newfoundland.

Signs warning of loose moose are common along the road, but I haven't seen a moose here yet.
