Coolant temp meter

just remember this bike was made to run correctly for 25 below zero to 132 above, and it will, if you block the radiator in any way you are going to cause your self problems. the fi systems runs off coolant temp and air temp and exhaust o-2 sensor, be very careful doing anything that could effect these inputs, dale

ONLY 132 Above !?!?!? are we supposed to park it all summer? :) ed

After some months running the bike with the coolant temp meter, I would say the running temp of this engine is 75ºC. It doesn't matter if you ride in the city with lot of traffic or in the highway, 75ºC is its desired temp. If you get it hotter because frecuent stops or so, it will reach that temp as soon as you give it an oportunity of getting fresh air

Looking back at this thread, it's probably possible and easier to tap of the ECT sensor wires for the temperature reading. Just need to find a meter that's suitable, or someone can help to measure the Koso sensor to see if it will have the same readings as OEM ECT sensor.

Specs of the ECT sensor:
Part number: 37870-MGS-D31 Water Temp Sensor
Resistance at 40C/104F : 1.0-1.3kohm
Resistance at 100C/212F : 0.1-0.2kohm
Voltage: 5V
