On the bike on the road, identity is simple.
I’m me.
Off the bike off the road, identity gets a lot more complicated.
I have to have a name.
I have to be from somewhere.
I have to be going somewhere.
I have to have something I do for a living.
And so on.
Why? I think me is enough.

I don't follow. When you stop out on the road, the first questions asked from people you meet are often where are you from and where are you going.

Sad for you buddy. Life and identity is great and wonderful in all aspects and arenas. To feel the "ME" while only on a motorcycle is, as I said, SAD

If you pay with cash you don't have to identify yourself unless you are being detained for a crime. But even when you are on the bike the plate identifies you.

I read it as a more philosophical post:

"To bike or not to bike, that is the question"

I like that, to me he was saying that when riding, he is a part of everything and everything is a part of him. So there is only Me. :) I feel it to!

When I am on on the motorcycle I am a Learning Motorcyclist.

When I am on a unicycle I am a Unicyclist.

When I am in a helicopter I am a Helitack Crew Leader.

When I am in an office I am a Plans Chief.

When I am in a classroom I am a Student.

At all times I am ME, and I am all those things (and much more) all the time.

I am I said, to no one there, and no one heard at all, not even the chair......

....never did quite understand that one....

but this clears it ALL up.....

Sometimes "Me" gets a feeling while riding that the world is going past me and I'm sitting still. Most ethereal....

Who are you? What do you want? Why are you here?

I imagine that's what these llamas are thinking.

(I don't know why that popped into my head but I was told once that's what llamas think when they stare you down.)

Would that make them Dalai Llamas?
