My accessories

Joe, there's a risk involved in anything on this planet. If your grey cells won't cope with you there is always an original yellow string to buy as a reminder to the disc lock!

No problem, I understand this fully. I even had one.
:D

Also, I never buy a "specialised yellow string" when I could just place the disc-lock bag at the key hole (as a reminder).

But then, I say again, we do not have any bike thefts here.
:D

You don't know how much lucky you are, mate

I know how lucky I am...

For example, if one is to visit the ski resort with the latest skis, easily 1000-2000chf per pair, one can just leave the skis outside the restaurant during lunch.
No one will steal it.

A few times, my wife forgot her wallet, bag or hat (beanie) in the train. They always come back to her, totally untouched.

Of course, there are certain areas in Switzerland where one cannot expect this. And there ARE thieves and bad people, but they are the exception.
I have not yet heard of a bike or car thief here in Zurich. Bicycles, yes, joyriders.

The product name is ABUS Granit Quick Mini, the 53 mm version unit, and fits beautifully on the front disc of the X. Read more about it here:

Here's a pic of the lock mounted on the disc:

No, I didn't purchase the crimper, I already have one
I have from time ago a 12V socket in the not the tank, in the hollow of the toolbox, but directly attached to the battery. Now my plan is to add/replace an USB socket but connect it to the optional sub-harness (P/N 08A71-MGS-D30, and relay set, P/N 08A70-MGS-D30) to have power only when the bike is powered on. To do a fine job I need the 110 terminals, that's the reason to order them.

HTH

JL, I see. how do you mount the socket? Did you drill a hole?

Not a hole for the socket itself, but several very small holes to pass the cables and ties:

The other item above the 12v socket is a ISO connector to charge the battery.

Today I mounted my latest farkle item that arrived yesterday: The hugger. I've been looking a long time for a good hugger on the market and read a lot of different misfits, odd colours (english spelling! :) and overpriced plastic parts that only gets produced after ordering and payment in advance. Then I found the Rossocromo hugger in France (eh, well, someone else found them but nosy me found their findings...) It is a super product that looks like a factory /stock mounted item with no hassling for the mounting, the fit is spot on and it looks gooood! :)

Rossocromo is the site, everything is written in French (thank the higher authorities for Google Translate!) but Paul, the owner, speaks excellent english. The price including delivery to Sweden was €99, i.e. quite reasonable.

Fastening is done in all four corners. The one below is the front left where you sneak in the hugger under the 'swingarm protection fastening screw'. A longer screw is added in the hugger delivery.

The second fastening spot is in the left rear where an added clamp around the left swing arm will do the job.

The last two spots are on the right hand side where the fastening assembly for the brake hose is exchanged for two new plastic clamps and new longer crews.

Everything is done in about 20 minutes and looks nice and tidy. And as usual, if you have to do it again a second time it will take no more than 5 minutes...
The product is promising and I'm quite curious to see if the swing will be less dirty compared to how it was before.

EDIT:
Here's a direct link to the product page:
Garde-boue Arrière - Rossocromo France
The hugger is €89 and delivery to Sweden was €10.

Christian, this what I have been waiting for!!! Me too looking for other huggers and they all don't seem right. This one looks great and very neat! Very close to stock version. Have you ever consider getting the chain guard? I'd love to hear from you on its use. Btw, looks like they reduced the price to €74 :) I just ordered mine. shipping to Canada is €23.

Hey Christian, I'm glad you got it. Questions:

1) How good is the clearance between tyre and hugger?

2) Can the chain guard be dismounted while keeping the hugger in place? (just for chain maintenance)

Regards

Hola José!
Thank you!
Well, the clearance is no more than about 5-10mm and yes, the hugger can stay put if you want to take the chain guard away.

Thanks Chee!
The Rossocromo chain guard you mean? Well, no! The beauty of the hugger can be compared to the non-existence of beauty of their chain guard ;-) I think it is ment for primarily the scooter version of the nc700-series although the protection is the same for all versions of the nc700. About the price I think you got it without french VAT. In Europe we got to pay the VAT of every EU country we buy stuff from.

Hello
Can you tell me anyone if the OEM part Honda for NC700X is the same in any country(Europe-America-Japan)?Because i find price and code differences. For example main stand or Heated Grip.

Thanks

What kind of hardware did you get for you hand guards ? I have the same ones but the hardware seems to big for the handle bars , what size is needed?
