Side Stand Question

Have been using the Vice method for years on dirt and street models. The shim method can lead to problems when not maintained. With use any sidestand will do this. Being parallel is nice but does not stop the side stand function. When there is an extreme amount of play that justifies removal and inspection you may want to true up the gap. The pivot bolt does just that pivot it does not stop the bending of the stand. A lighter grease should be used heavy grease can restrict movement. Dry film lube is great stuff to not attract dirt but is not recommended. Have seen a few thin shim updates over the years that were not maintained and resulted in wearing thru and having half moons of the shim falling out. I love the oversize side stand feet available for not only off road but for all that soft pavement we see in the summer.
