2015: What did you do to/with your NC700 today?

Of course if the power is out at work you will have to walk home.

That would depend if you have fully depleted the battery upon arrival and the power went out within 5-10 minutes of being there.

Then you would be in a quite a pickle, won't you?

Not me, I'd have enough power left to go back home...

Got out today with a couple friends to ride some gravel on a beautiful day. Country roads, fall colors and some bbq to top it off.

Sorry no fall color or pictures of ribs. Was too busy riding and too hungry to stop and take more pictures.

still raining here ... so I put on the SW Motech crash bars, the Wolo horn, and changed out the headlight bulb for a Sylvania h4. maybe get some riding tomorrow.

I did the horn upgrade to two Fiamms inside the fairing panels. I also reduced the size of my tire compressor so it can tuck into the area under the rear cowling behind the seat.

While you are here, from Harrison take hwy 7 south to Jasper, then hwy 74 west about 10 miles to the Low Gap Café. Nothing else there besides the Café which used to be a general store. great food!

Thanks Bamamate. The Low Gap Café was over the top. The roads around here are great - 7, 74, 16, 42, 21, and on and on. But, you have to get it done before Saturday morning when all the danged elk-watchers show up to constipate the roads. You'd think they had never seen a fur-bearing woodlands forest creature before.

One of our crowd over-obligated himself on a K1300S and got a helicopter flight out of the deal. They had to take him by ambulance about five miles to get to a clearing where the heli could land. I did not hear his extent of injuries.

Tonight I removed the grips to install heating elements then glued the grips back into place. I will wire the heaters up later.

Don't you get a little nervous when you load the bike for a trip and she rests on the rear wheel while on the centerstand.

Took a 100 mile ride to and through the Napa Valley, beautiful day today.

Had my NC, a Shadow Spirit 750, a Ultra Glide, and a GL 1800.

I rode fairly slow through the twisty bits so we didn't lose the big bikes.

Last night I installed a set of Symtec heated grip warmers under the OEM grips and installed the harness for my heated jacket and gloves. It's still in the 80's F here but now all the wiring installations I planned to do are done.

This evening I installed a set of Cogent Dynamics drop-in cartridge emulators in the forks.

Having owned a GL1800 for 10 years I can confirm that it is well capable of shifting quickly through the twisties. I would suggest that in that particular instance, blame the rider, not the bike ;)

Today is my one year anniversary as a NC700X owner!

Nebraskagirl and I went for a ride to the historic Beaumont Hotel for lunch and to checkout the Elk Falls wind farm.

Awesome day with an awesome lady!

I have had the pleasure of riding out with a fellow club member from my Veteran & Vintage motorcycle club on a couple of occasions during the past week. He has a 750 Dct having previously had a 700. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was quite amazed by this man. To start with he only has one eye, dodgy knees and is the wrong side of 75. Not a problem to him. For his age and impediments he goes like the veritable clappers, but in a safe and unimposing way. I thoroughly enjoyed my two outings with him and look forward to the next one.

He has just put a Leo Vince slip on silencer on his bike. His excuse was that the bike was too quiet and cyclists on backroads could not hear him coming. I suppose there is a slight element of truth in that, but I suspect his real purpose was to get it past his Fun Prevention Officer (Wife), who holds the purse strings. She will do anything to ensure his safety on the bike. His Family are not happy with him riding motorcycles at this stage of his life, especially with the sight impediment. They have tried everything to get him off bikes including getting him a little car, but he is having none of it.

Anyway I must admit the pipe is neat and sounds just right. It is not too loud with the baffle left in place but allows the bike to sound more like a motorcycle than it does. I have now mentioned my problem with cyclists to my own FPO too !

There is some truth to the noise for bicyclist safety justification. They have put speakers with engine sounds on electric vehicles for exactly that reason.

Since installing mine I notice animals at road side taking notice of me coming to stay out of the way.

Leo Vince with silencer is just right. Good tone, and loud enough to be heard and not offending loud to anyone.
