A Harley and an NC700X DCT ride up a mountain....Not only does Northern California have some of the best off road riding, this twisty ride from Livermore up to the top of Mt. Hamilton, home of the Lick Observatory is certainly in the top five! A friend on a Harley joins me for a ride to the top...
Well. Seems I've not been visiting the forum for quite a while. I've been out riding! Here is a short clip from a new discovery in the east Bay Area of Northern California. The road is called Morgan Territory road and is a smooth asphalt ribbon winding along the foothills of Mt Diablo. The...
C'mon...does the corner shop serve "Bananarama", "Cinnamon Troll", "Cereal Killer", "Nutella the Hun" or my favorite, the "Canadian Morning Squeal Meal" - a buttermilk bar topped with maple icing, bacon bits, and chocolate? Mmmm making myself hungry. I think I'll head back down next week, but...
Would you ride 75 miles for a donut? Last week I shot out to The Junction along Mines and Hwy 130. An awesome $10 1/2 pound buffalo burger and cold beverage made it well worth the trip. Even in mesh jacket and pants, I am starting to feel the temperature. Wanting to beat the heat today (yes, its...
Hit a snag today with the iPhone mounted above the handle bar post. While riding (in about 80 degree weather), I noticed my iPhone displayed a yellow triangle and temperature warning. Not sure if it was the direct sun or the 12VDC adaptor (likely a bit of both plus the heat from the GPS...
OK, so you didn't really have wait until August, so be kind when you view this 4 mile ride. Enjoy the blue grass sounds of "Ramblers Curse", by the North Carolina based Kudzu band (my nephew, the Doctor). Honda NC700X DCT - Ramblers Curse - YouTube
Ah this brings back memories....I had HAIR the last time I had to take the DMV motorcycle test. It was on an '85 CB900F and no, I did NOT stay inside that stupid little circle. I was just young and good looking enough to charm the female test administrator (at least that's what I told myself)...
I bought the DCT after learning such a technology existed. I found it looking at the Aprilia Mana. Their website video sold me on the concept of "concentrating on the ride". I knew it was likely marketing hype, but I do find I can hit a turn with a flick of my thumb (or two flicks if I'm going...
After struggling in near pitch dark to get the key into the ignition, I hooked a tiny keychain light to the bike and house key ring. It dangles safely in the handlebar well as I ride.
At 500 lbs, the NC700 is as heavy as my old CB900F but offers only half the horses. Even so, the bike is certainly powerful enough for two, but I feel the need to manually downshift (i have the DCT) when it comes time to pass. I asked johnakay make a passenger back rest for my daughter who...
1)Tall Honda screen - noisy but fewer bugs on my face mask
2)Noise canceling ear buds - not technically a mod but required due to #1
3)12V plug - ruined one wire so far closing the frunk lid on it
4) honda Leg deflectors - look cool
5) honda Foot deflectors- made in Italy, like me
6) Honda...
You are so right! Same with Westinghouse, Philips, and Magnavox TVs. We can't assume brand names of yester-year mean much. Good news is Honda still means reliable, low maintence, clean running, and quiet. I love my NC!
The image does rotate, in fact it does so automatically so around sharp turns it can swing when you don't want it to. However, the shape gets tall and narrow, like turning your TV on its side (perhaps that's what you mean - doesn't rotate and hold 16:9). I tried mounting using the handlebar...
Fremont Honda charged me $60 for the 600 mile break-in oil change, filter, and replaced the transmission filter on the DCT. Fair price IMHO. Other than oiling the chain, I'll. to need another factory (or self) service until 8000 miles.
