How about a game of NC tag? Its a lot of fun!

A few of my friends are running police escorts on these wind turbines. They are made in the area of Freeport, Texas, and are escorted by different routes at different times set by the Texas Department of Public Safety. Most of the routes find I-20 and are then escorted to between Synder and Post, Texas where the wind turbines are put into service. Motorcycle police officers make good extra job money escorting these units.

Some of the tower parts are (or were) made at Riley Beaird right here in my hometown of Shreveport. I haven't seen any leaving to area in a little while, though. I live right around the corner from the plant.

BTW- what's the new tag?

I would venture that OCR got the wind turbine tag. He can clarify if not. What's next?

I did not win the tag because my bike is not in the picture just part of the windshield, and that is a picture taken from my travels last month, not a new picture. Just a "commit" on where they are made.

The blades are also made in Little Rock, AR. Seen them a couple of times on the Interstate.

Hmmm? Not to far from where I work. Not sure if I want to take a photo today. It is raining like hell and I'll probably just head straight home.

Well, this isn't one of the big ones like you can find out west.... but it is a wind powered generator...

They have them in parks and other places locally as an alternative (supplemental?) power source.

Does that work?

As usual, great photos, Mr. Ride!

Also, I'm sure this has been mentioned in the forum somewhere before, but (since I am too lazy to search) what tires do you have on your X? How are they for grip/tread life/etc?

Many thanks!

For predominate street riding trips I use:

Bridgestone Touring 023 - 12000 miles
Front tire - 120/70 ZR17
Rear Tire - 160/60 ZR17

Because of price/product value.

For trips where I am doing a lot of off road I use:

Continental TKC80 Tires - 8000 miles
Front Tire - 120/70-17
Rear Tire - 150/70-17

Because of off/on road properties.
