It took my years to figure this out. I think that full face helmets are designed and tested for clean air. Any turbulent air bothers me in some way. I have this thing that happens to me that no one else seems to have when I'm not in perfectly clean air. The air inside the helmet, between my face and the chin bar, oscillates a very tiny amount. The only part of my face that detects it are my nose hairs, seriously. It causes my nose to itch just enough to make me want to scratch it. It's happened with multiple helmets on multiple bikes with multiple windscreens. Clean air solves it though.

Doc...... You are not alone there, i too feel that occasionally! I have the little tiny bikini screen from the factory and dislike it a lot. I rode my friends 2013 with a much taller factory wind screen on his and did not feel that one bit. So, he is getting a new 22" Madstad screen and i get his old one...Perfect! :{)

Whoopee! I just got back from the first ride of the season. The roads that were re-paved last year survived the winter intact. There is a heck of lot sand in the corners on the sides of the road.

My wife made a nice picnic lunch, pork flour tortillas with corn.
We rode over to a nice spot near Tiff City, Missouri and took our wading shoes.
Beautiful day! 80 and sunny.

I was able to solve mine by trimming off 2 inches from the stock screen and installing mirror extenders.

Rapturee... I’m not keeping the Madstad windscreen... that’s a sure thing. I liked some of the “screen” aspects and Madstad seems (to me) to be the preferred screen by many NC forum people (that’s why I chose it.) I just like more how the ORIGINAL screen feels... in my 40,000+ motorcycle miles since summer of 2013... I guess I’m just plain used to it.
I paid $308 for the Madstad. I’ll see if they will refund all or part of it. But, hey, feel free with an offer.

Looks like they have a pretty fair return policy within 30 days. Good luck :)

"What is your return policy?
If you are not satisfied with your new windshield system you have 30 days to return it for a refund of the purchase price, less a minimum 15% restocking fee. Factory demo systems, replacement windshields and custom orders are NOT refundable. If system components are missing or damaged then we reserve the right to apply an additional restocking fee. This applies regardless of whether the damage was caused by return shipping or any other reason. Please wrap and package the returning items carefully, especially the windshields. We recommend a piece of cardboard be placed between the windshield and all other components in the box, and we also recommend that you insure the package in the event that the shipper is the one who causes the damage or loses the package."

Saturday was a wash out-literally-record rain on Derby Day (1st Saturday in May, Ky Derby that is)-over 3" of rain this past Saturday. Yesterday, it started out as a perfect riding day. I left the house at 1030 (too dang wet to do any outside yard work)-72'F and sunny skies-perfect riding weather. I headed towards Madison Indiana on hwy 356 (nice curvy road-no traffic). Once I got to Madison (25 miles from the house), I decided to ride over to Rabbit Hash Ky again (57miles east of Madison). The BBQ stand at Rabbit Hash is open for the season ;), got a pulled pork sandwich, and sat and watched the bikes starting to roll in (not too crowded when I got there but within 30 minutes, place was full of bikes). Again mostly HD crowed pulled in with a few crotch rockets. There was one KLR, one WR250 and my Honda NC700x. Rest was the other kind.
After I left Rabbit Hash, I decided to ride over to I275 take the superslab bridge over to Lawrenceburg Indiana and ride Hwy 156 from Aurora back to Vevay. Nice ride until came around Belterra casino at Markland Dam and went-going to get wet. Weather man had forecasted spring showers in late afternoon (230pm is NOT late afternoon) and did get wet (5 miles of riding in hard rain just before Vevay Indiana). After that, I was able to ride around, miss the other showers in the area for then next 50 miles. The Shinko Raven tire felt great in the rain/wet roads but then I did slow down and not ride like a banshee...
Got home and realized-hmm, hasn't rained here-got the lawn tractor out and mowed 2 acres of grass.

Managed to find and repair the power wire for my Garmin gps cradle this weekend.

Also tried installing my slanted risers. I currently have 20mm risers and was going to try the ones that are 20mm up and slanted back. Unfortunately, the cables couldn’t make the reach and it’s not enough of a problem to make it worth recabling.

Oh, yeah, got in a really nice Friday afternoon ride [emoji16]

I took advantage of that rain on Saturday to test my waterproof gear. I came home dry as a bone.

Had pretty good weather this weekend. Was able to get the bike past the 300 mile mark. Now I can start opening up the throttle a little more often.

I did notice when I first got it that the brakes were quite weak. Now, after 300 miles, it feels like they are worn in and it stops much, much better.

Sounds like lots of folks got out this weekend for some good saddle time. Got a few good miles myself... as well as some good fish tacos

On the sound team at church for this month so went ahead of the family = ride to church :)

Unfortunately at the church breakfast my wife inhaled a piece of food when someone made her laugh just as she was about to take her first bite. She ended up having to spend the night in the hospital with a partial obstruction that could be heard (& felt by her) but wouldn't budge. Due to markers showing changes she had to start antibiotics to hopefully prevent a possible infection/pneumonia. Yesterday morning the pulmonary doc sends her for a CAT scan prior to scoping her, although he doesn't believe it's food at this point - just a now irritated airway, even though everyone can clearly hear the rattling/wheezing. On the way to the scan the "food" moves and blocks her airway and she's struggling to breathe at all. The nurse starts pounding on her back and out pops a piece of sausage from the quiche she had been going to eat on Sunday! She kept it to show the unbelieving doc, who strangely enough never came back to see her!! The nurses rocked though. Few more hours for observation and we were free to go, just a sore throat and sleep deprivation to recover from.

Moral of the story is more riding, less church; church can be a dangerous place!

Just kidding, we take our faith seriously and know that we're not promised tomorrow no matter what we do or don't do today.

I changed my oil today and replaced with Honda's HP4S fully synthetic 10w30. I used the K&N 204 filter. My bike has a little over 2000 miles right now, but since its a 2013 and only had 730 miles when I got it last September, I figured it would be best to put some fresh in there. The old oil didn't look bad, though. I also wanted to go ahead and switch it to a synthetic oil.

Rode my NC to go vote today.
I find it offensive that they put a new tax on the ballot that will be specifically for services the township already provides.
They already provide the service. It is just a way to scare the masses into thinking they are going to loose Fire or Police protection so the Gov can get another revenue stream. Then if it passes, it frees up unrestricted funds from the general budget to spend on whatever they want.
Ok...Rant over.

Don't get me started on getting screwed by the govt, looks like you live in Michigan? Wanna make you blood boil, The MCCA fee had 18 Billion in surplus recently, and Mi let them up it this year. Yes BBBBillion, they could take that surplus and make us have road that are smooth.

Since the bike is 5 years old, don’t forget the brake fluid. I only mention it as a reminder because some people overkill engine oil changes, and totally forget or ignore the brake fluid.
