Hi, I just bought an NC750X, I saw your forum and thought I'd join as it looks a friendly and useful place to be.
I've been riding motorbikes for 29 years and do the occasional bit of instruction too.

My last Honda was a VFR800FI but I've had a CB1300, 3 other VFRs, a couple of CBR600s, Triumph Tiger, a couple of Kawasakis, a Harley, several BMWs and some other bikes I probably forgot.

I just sold the BMW R1150GS I've owned for the past 8 years and I pick my NC750X up on Tuesday 17th June.

I haven't ridden the 750 yet but I tested a 700 a year or two back. They look so well made with a quality finish.

I'm looking forward to picking up my bike and getting to know it. It's all about where it can take me and the fun of getting there.

Come on over to the alpine country and I promise to meet you and bring you twisties. :p
Welcome!

I've just come back from there. I went down to Mugello for MotoGP and travelled down through Switzerland. I overnighted at Andermatt and rode the Furka Pass, Oberlap Pass, Gotthard Pass, Grimsel Pass and Susten Pass whilst there. Great fun. That was on my R1150GS.

Looking forward to exploring on my NC750X when I get it. Next time I'm coming over I'll post a thread on here :D

True. I hope you enjoy the 750. It will be different!
Welcome!
I've mentioned the idea a couple of times but never got any interest, so I gave up.
Now that there are a few of you, you should form a group at least then you know everyone would see the suggestion(s).

Well, I picked my bike up today and I'm really pleased with it. The previous owner bought it new in December 2013, covered 1k miles, had the first service and then swapped the standard tyres for Bridgestone T30 sport touring tyres.
I rode it 50 or 60 miles home and got 80mpg in mixed riding.

It's more comfy than my R1150GS, smoother with less vibrations and tingles through the bars, quicker steering, has lighter controls and fantastic balance.
It's always nice when you discover you've made the right choice.

Typical of most Honda's....I absolutely love the low CG of this bike and how perfectly balanced it is...My 2014 DCT w/Givi panniers weighs about the same as a BMW GS1200 (505 lbs vs 525 lbs wet) but the balance on the Honda is so much better! I often come to a slow crawl/stop and don't have to put a foot down.

Enjoy your new motorcycle and many safe and happy miles!!!
