It amazes me sometimes on the difference in weather from the northern part of state to the southern part (about 200 miles as the crow flies). Going to be mid-60s today (it was mid 70s yesterday) with no rain until after 10pm tonight and none of that frozen precipitation stuff down here...be safe man.

I think you guys can almost grow palm trees down there!

Wow, mid 70s for you yesterday? I was riding near St Louis yesterday and never saw more than 50*F, even though 60s were predicted.

Givi handguards that were supporting my Hippo Hands (which I recommend) broke on the right side.
Handguards broke doing nothing but holding Hippo Hands.
I'm a little bit upset about it, I expected higher quality.
Going to replace them with barkbusters, probably.

Where these the mirror-mount version? If so, mine broke on the right hand mount and there was no good way to fix it. Threw the Givi’s away and just bought the [emoji2959][emoji2959]expensive Barkbusters. Buy once, cry once.

Yeah, the mirror mount versions.
At least their crash bars have held up, but I don't intend to buy another Givi product after this. It's just disgraceful.

Yep, and right now today it is 60'F...with rain coming in tonight..and then turning colder but no frozen precip....

3" of snow about 25 miles to my northwest
1" of snow about 10 miles west of my home
Rain/freezing rain where I am, and to the south & east of me too.

So we were spared from snow but road reports are wet with slick spots for this morning. Another day in the car.

A bit of early winter all over the place, it seems. My sister in the Denver area complained of single-digit (6°F) temps and heavy snow yesterday. That morning I had to drop off the returning Kathmandu pants at a UPS store 25 miles away in Yuma. It was 47°F! I was quite grateful for the factory heated grips on my new bike. They helped a lot. ;)

You keep that stuff up there....hate, absolutely hate frozen precip....

uh, no thanks!

The coldest I have ridden was 17'F at 70 mph on the Interstate for 38 miles to work (and no heated gear at that time)...I was riding consistently to work and someone stated 'I bet you dont ride in tomorrow'....they lost their bet....snowmobile one piece outfits and insulated gauntlets with a balaclava helped immensely...toes were still very very cold...

My lowest ride is somewhere in the mid 20's f° (on my commute to work at 0100/0200, most of the ride was lower 30's f° but the mountain pass was 6f°-7f° colder, the thermostat said it warmed up after getting down the hill, at 80mph it didn't feel like it lol
I've got heated grips but no heated gear yet and it would take half a day before I felt warmed up

I've realised that I have multiple cages that I paid for, pay for reg and insurance, might as well use them on the days that are extreme enough riding isn't enjoyable

I'm planning on buying heated gear to make winter riding enjoyable, but it hasn't happened yet

0 to 2 inches of snow forecast for where I live today by the local weather man.
2-4 inches 20 miles to the northwest of me.

No motorcycle riding for me.

I actually love snow, in the winter.

Not on Halloween when I have to go to the school and beat kids with swords because we have a tournament on Saturday.

Halloween is crazy enough with kids everywhere, add crappy driving conditions and mix in the fact that Illinois drivers are the worst snow drivers on the planet and I'm going to be dodging kids who are on a sugar high & a bunch of "F.I.Ps" (f*****g Illinois Peeps) who launch their cars into ditches when it snows.

LOL! I think you cleaned it up just a bit - f*****g Illinois B*****ds or FIB’s is what I learned once upon a time..

More rain here with temps down to 30... I can live with that! I sympathize with you and your frozen stuff. Yuck.

Wow. You must have had some bad experiences to give you reason to insult our forum members who live in Illinois.

...

I was using the PG-13 term, yours is the R-Rated term. Both accurately describe drivers from the State of Illinois.

Illinois drivers are pretty universally hated on the roadways, but those of us on the sane side of the state line can't stand them invading our state, clogging the left lane while driving slow and doing other dangerous things on our roadways. Wisconsin residents have a very special disdain for Illinois drivers and whole comedy acts revolve around the antics of the drivers on the ILL roadway system.

Hmmm. Well on behalf of my fellow Illinois residents, all I can do is apologize for our behavior and perhaps we’ll strive to someday rise to the (self proclaimed) higher driving competence level of our neighboring states.

Thank you, we all appreciate it. Except the people from Kentucky, they just don't care.

In the mean time the rest of us will sit on our front porches, in our rocking chairs, facing toward Springfield, watching as an episode of THE SIMPSONS plays out in real life on the roadways and in the government offices of Illinois.
