2016: What did you do to/with your NC700 today?

My 2014 DCT has just over 8k miles. I ride gravel when I can. I'm taking a 7000 mile trip in June. I thought since the air filter change comes at 12k, I'd go ahead and do,that maintenance. Spent an hour learning more about the underskin workings of the NCX. Put in the new filter, but the old one was hardly tainted. I'll keep the one I took out just in case I ever need to change it.

Yep, I think having the intake up behind the top triple tree gives it clean fresh air coming from under the beak. Othe bikes tend to have it further back and lower where dirt/dust kicked up from the front tire can enter.....also helps if you are in the lead and not eating everyone else's dust.

A riding buddy and me took a nice 220 mile ride thru the SoCal desert today near El Mirage Dry Lake. There are quite a few Movie Shoot locations spread around up there.
This pic is of the chapel from the movie "Kill Bill" by Tarantino.

BTW...I got 67.93mpg on this trip which included about 150 miles of 75-80mph freeway riding. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

Rode this past Saturday with Deckyon and a couple of others over to the Red River Gorge area; due to Mother's Day commitments, I couldn't spend the night in the cabin with the other partiers.
Here is a low quality 10 minute video of HWy 607 in Northern Ky:

This was the 2nd annual trip from Louisville, KY to Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge state parks in eastern KY. I started it as a way to get out of Louisville during the Kentucky Derby and miss all the crowds and issues that come with an extra few hundred thousand people partying all over the city.

The ride in took about 5 hours and we saw some great roads, including a revisit to KY607 which is like a little Tail of the Dragon. Not as technical, but a lot of fun and very quiet in regards to traffic.

We stayed in Natural Bridge state park at a cabin one of the guys riding had rented out. Rode all day, ate, grabbed beer, went to the cabin and relaxed. It has a hot tub and pool table, and we had a great time.

With Sunday being Mother’s Day, I had to be back in town by 2PM, so the ride home consisted of a long boring ride on the interstate. 2 hours is all it took, but I was more tired after that ride than I was after riding the 5 hours on the twisties.

All in all, a fun and successful weekend. Already thinking ahead for the ride next year.

Gearing up to head out, hoping to beat the rain. Got about 10 minutes of drizzle, then dry all the way home.

Raven, all ready to head home.

I don't ride gravel with the NC, but I waited until 24,000 miles to even look at it's air filter. I changed it then but it was hardly dirty, just a bit discolored. I thing the recommended 12,000 mile interval must be for worst case conditions.

On Saturday i installed the USB and cigarette outlet out of this set

Thinking about installing a on off switch

Not sure if I'm just adding something else to go wrong, or if I should? And if I do install on off switch should I install it on the negative or positive or if it makes a deference at all ?

I put a new shinko 705 and a new chain on today. I got about 4300 miles out of the last tire.

I bought this chain in the 112 link for the dct. Bike has 8400 miles on it, I will add about another 10k miles over the next 3 months. I figured the oem chain would need replacing at about 12k miles, so I went ahead and replaced it, the sprockets looked fine. I will change the sprockets with the next chain.

Plan on doing my chain tonight for the same reasons. At 8k miles now, heading out on a 7000 mile journey next month. Don't want to worry about chains and tires.

Btw, I ordered the rivet link, but it came with a clip so I had to go buy a link for $10 grrrrrr

Who did you order from sprocket center our Amazon? I would recommend sprocket center, great staff and prices. Not affiliated just a picky customer who was very satisfied

Amazon to save $20, but I spent 10 of that on the link, so sprocket center next time because I will also be changing out the sprockets
