I had a busy day. I spooned on a new PR4 rear tire. I think the Conti has a few more miles on it, but I'm leaving on Tuesday for a 3000+ miles trip, and didn't want to chance it. I also changed the oil and scrubbed in the new tire on a short ride. Then I began test packing to make sure I don't forget anything important.

I rode this 385 km (240 mile) loop to Niagara Falls and back.

I couldn't find a spot to take a pic of my bike with the Falls in the background. I did find a spot with FREE parking for bicycles, scooters and motorcycles. Sign said free parking was for patrons of the Casino but no one was checking.

I parked beside a CTX. I was standing a few feet away from the parked bikes when a guy came along and asked if that was my Honda, gesturing at my NC not the CTX, wow that's cool how much did it cost? It's water cooled eh?

I always tell people it's automatic, they don't get it.

Since new I've had around 10 random people tell me they like my bike. Kid's, teens, middle age, old guys like me, older guys than me...seems the appeal spans generations. Even this Raccoon showed some interest!

Is it just the GPS software or are there lots of straight roads in Canada ? It just appears from your map that there are lots of squares or rectangles and very few curvy roads. I also got that impression from your previous map.

In the USA the roads in the original 13 colonies followed natural topography.

In the early years we adopted a grid system called the Geological Survey System, and it is used in the other states now, as well as in Georgia.
So we have plenty of straight roads as well.

Where mountains or rivers or make straight roads impossible we get some nice twisties.

Naturally there are also areas where trails existed before the surveyors arrived.

The good aspect is that it is easy to find things. The bad aspect is that it makes driving boring, and so people text, eat, shave, and put on their makeup.

But it was 85 degrees so it was still fun.

Packed for tomorrow. After work, I'm heading to Seattle with two friends to ride the PCH down to San Francisco.

Rode this 80 km (50 mile) loop to Fingal and back. Weather looked questionable but was great.

Maine Trip

Not today but last week, drove from south central MA to Phippsburg, Maine for a few days of camping. First camp trip with the bike. Was a great trip. Bike handled well, although those Maine highway wind gusts took some getting use to but the country and coastal roads were where she's at home. A few washed out sand/gravel roads for a cpl miles were also a blast.
