    Honda Quality? maybe maybe not

I have the transmission issue, where I change from 4-5, there is a ghost neutral, accompanied with a crunch. Happens about twice a week if I am not careful. I've been skipping 5th altogether and go from 4th to 6th with one clutch pull. It's really annoying, but at 20k miles and 1.5 years from...

What is your NC700x bad habit??

I have a number of bad habbits. Let me list them: I've left the frunk open a number of times, it's a surprising thunk to the gut when it springs open at 40 MPH I've left the key on the frunk keyhole, and walked away. Not a big deal, until you realize that it's on a crowded manhattan street! I...

    Tires that fit the NC700

Does anyone have any ideas as to how many miles I should expect out of a rear Shinko 705 tire? I know the TKC80 up front is reported to have lasted more than 10k on OldWestRider's bike, but no reports on the 705's longevity powering an NC.

    Shinko 705's en route!

Any report on the mileage people are getting on these 705s?

    Got one...

Thanks for the pointers, let me address your items one by one: The TKC80 was mounted because I am taking the bike into the woods, forests, abandoned coal mines, and other off road adventures. As long as I get about 10k miles off of them, I'll be satisfied. I'll see how they wear, and if I get...

60/40 Tire choice for the NC

So I ended up buying TKC 80 front, Shinko 705 rear. Anyone have any mileage on the shinkos? I know the TKC80 will be good for at least 10k

    Got one...

Well, I think it is time for another update! I've been riding non stop, and have recently gotten a job IN Manhattan, so now I commute daily on the motorcycle. I am at 14k miles and counting. Here are some highlights: Rode it in the snow with the stock tires, dropped it a few times in the snow...

60/40 Tire choice for the NC

I've been researching for about a week, and I need help choosing the right tires. I want to do some off road rides, but I also commute on my bike. I want a tire that lasts around 10k miles. Will the TKC 80 front tire paired up with the Heidenou K60 back tire work for my purposes?

Why and how do you stick to owning the NCX?

I'm the kind of person that wants the best of everything rolled into one machine. I want good power, decent looks, good ergonomics, ability to do off road, great on road, able to do luggage and ride two up for long distances, and most importantly, be as bulletproof and as reliable as my Honda...

    Clickty clackty

I beat on mine every time I get on it, no problems. Still on original chain, sprocket and tires after 13k miles.

    Average Fuel Economy

my MPG always hovers around 60MPG, usually a little less, sometimes a little more. I never ride gingerly, always ride very aggressively, and after 13k miles, still on my original tires, chain and sprocket. Had to give it a new set of front brake pads though.

The "use tax" on stuff for my NC, cut my state refund in half! :-P

why are you willingly paying more taxes than you have to? OH well, to each their own.

    Heated gloves or Handguards

I do both, so I am also in the both front. When it is 25 degrees out and you have 50 miles to go, saving that 100 dollars (or whatever it may be) will not be worth it. Not to mention that cold hands are dangerous.

Are Motorcycles Really More Practical and Economical?

Living near NYC and riding into the beast almost daily (not for work, but for fund with friends) I can say that the bike has saved me a bunch of money and frustration this year and last year on parking, traffic, and gas. It also helps that I really enjoy doing it, but I have done maybe 500 miles...

    Premature chain wear ???

I'm not sure why you guys are having such early chain wear, but mine looks good. My tires are also looking quite good, and I have 10000+ miles on my bike. I ride her hard, ride two up a lot, and I've maxed it out more than 10 times (110ish). I ride mostly around NYC (top speeds mostly occurred...
