Reset tip-over switch?

Since today only comes around once in 4 yrs. I gave "Destiny" a good bath.
See pic below: I was coming down the trail toward U.
While crossing the creek, the front dipped into a hole and laid her down-
there she lay, on the left side- half submerged.
It took me about a few seconds to pick'er up and try to start, to no avail.(she mad )
Pushed it across to the other side in knee deep water. (huff&puff)
Hit start a few times but no go. All electronics seemed fine. Dash lites- all good.

Nice couple came by and helped me tow the bike up to level ground into the sun where she got some tan.
She was still mad after tanning an hour. Maybe bcse I was pulling all kinds of fuses and relays in the guts.
They were all a little wet, but none were blown.
I call my son to come and get me. He came blazing on his DRZ400 with street tires!!- we managed to tow a few yards until
we hit the first incline, where the DRZ quit pulling and just spun the rear. Aren't sons great? In the rush to rescue me...

After a lot of trying this and that, it was finally decided the best thing to do was to
load her up into my van (i had parked it about an hour away)
and get her home (it was already dark after 5 hours from the time of the big dip).
I'm thinking some water got into the air intake. Gonna give her a checkup tomorrow.
Hope she is in better mood by then.:)

Probably need to reset the tip-over switch, or maybe the kill-switch on the handlebars?
Good luck on the restart!

I rode to work on a beautiful yesterday. Everything was great until I got back home. I pulled into my parking spot, like always. I put down the kickstand, like always. I held the front brake and started swinging my right leg over to dismount, like always. I said a bad word as my bike tipped over to the right catching my boot on the lip of the seat and taking me with it catapulting me into the side of my truck... most definitely NOT like always. All is well. I'm fine. With the exception of a few minor scratches on the bar end and muffler, the bike is fine. The truck is old and I honestly can't tell if I did any damage to it. I just can't for the life of me figure out what happened. I stood her back up and she didn't wobble or tip. Oh well. Life goes on.

Bank Angle Sensor

The bank angle sensor. Part of the FI system. On my other bike it would shut down ignition if it inclined too far. Not sure if same for NC; manual shows some voltage specs when inclined, but not a total loss of voltage; nor does it say what happens. Guess you could take it loose with the bike running on the stand and tilt it to 90 deg and find out. No indication of a reset; should reset itself when righted.

The senor worked, but not fast enough. She had gulped some water into her esophagus aka air tube.
Had I had superman reflexes, I could have hit the kill button and saved me hours of grief.
So, today I burped my baby- a whole cup came out of her nose, aka the spark plug holes.

After that, she was running again- all is forgiven.

Love her!

Bypassed and removed the side stand switch today. Another safety feature, much like the bank angle sensor, that if it goes bad leaves you stranded (until you figure it out). One of the first things to do to Aprilia RSV2s due to reported failures of the switch; bank angle was the second weak link that some bypassed.

My son's foot slipped and the bike tipped over on it's side. He said it laid there and kept running. He picked it up and rode it home. That is what he said. I have yet to read exactly what the sensor really does.

I put 178 twisting cold miles on it today and at the end found that I need to put the new tire on. Some cord showing. Planning on doing it tomorrow if not raining in the morning. Or Friday. Got almost 9K miles out of original tire. It had 6600 on it when I purchased it on Dec. 12. Top of the Smoky Mountains glistening with ice. Snow predicted up there tonight.

Had to remove the one side stand switch on my Dr650. A good dip would shut off the engine. First time, scared the crap out of me. Second time I brought out the wire cutters.

Installed an LED license plate bracket to light up the plate. I switched to a red LED for the taillight and therefore needed extra lighting. Had to cut a slight notch in the plate for the LED wire to pass through. Works great so far for ~$30. Also installed the Backoff XP brake light flasher. I now get 5 flashes and then a steady "on" when I apply the brakes. Anything to be move visible!

Actually what I did yesterday.I made a 300 mile test run after getting most of my accessories installed.
Rode from Irving Tx to Sulphur Ok. Rode north on older roads with 45 to 70 mph speed limits. Had a north wind
25 gusting to 35 mph. The last 15 miles with reserve blinking. Filled up in Sulphur at 151 miles took 3gal. even.
Came back to Irving on interstate at 75 mph all the way back. Mileage read out said 58.5 and this has proven
to be very accurate.005.jpg

This is Platt National Park in Sulphur.

Made an appointment to get a ride in service with Russell to get a new seat. Hopefully by the end of the month I'll be much more comfortable on the bike.

Changed up my LED auxilliary lights. Went with Advmonster Model 21 lights in Amber, might help with the generally rainy weather in Seattle.

I was in the garage until midnight trying to wrap up my wiring project so I could ride today. Me and a few friends from work went to a place Called Billy Blanco's, near Park City, UT, to eat some good grub, stare at nice cars and choppers, and plan our ride to California, Oregon, and Washington this June.

Here is a sneak-peak at what I did with the electrical. I'll put a proper thread together for it.

I'm not a big fan of choppers, but admire the artistry that goes into some of them

It was a beautiful day, and I was so happy to finally have her back together (even if I will be taking her apart again next week to put in suspension parts from Cogent).

ETA: I'll get the pictures fixed shortly...
ETA again: I think they are working now...?
