Not been riding much lately, been spending the weekends in the tree stands (still archery season; gun season opens 11-12-2016).
Deer # 2 for the freezer (getting my paybacks for those damn blood suckers-teach them for knocking me off my cruiser 2 months ago)

Revenge, the only thing more motivating to a killing deer then backstrap

It was raining when I voted, so I took the NCT
back over about 4:30 to see if it was still busy and to get a picture. IMG_0025.jpg

Figured, I'm probably about 45 minutes East of you, just the other side of La Due reservoir. Used to commute to American Greetings over in Brookpark just down the road from the Plain Dealer building on Tiedeman. Do you ever go to the Cycle Gear bike nights over at the North Olmsted store?

That's actually about an hour south of where I am.

You're probably closer than that. I've only ever seen one other NC in NE Ohio, I think I was at Hot Head Burrito in Mayfield at the time.
I've been to Cycle Gear a couple times, just not for Bike Nite, I do Quaker Steak in Independence a few time a season on Wednesdays.

I decided to improve my windscreen mount before taking my NC down to the dealer to get my Avon Trailriders mounted. First I took some flathead M5 bolts I had around with a pair of very thin small washers, and bolted Dale's nut plates through one of the holes I would not be using for the windscreen. I tightened them until the thin washers deformed to almost but not quite slip through the hole, so that the flatheads would be nearly flush with the mounting surface. Then I back them off just a bit so there would be a bit of play available for the nut plates. This holds the nut plates in place and allows them to conform readily to windscreen mounting holes.

Then I took a clear notebook divider and placed it over the NC's mounting surface and drew the shape and hole placement on it using a Sharpie. I used this template to cut two 1/8"-thick pieces of neoprene which I am now using in place of rubber washers on the inside. The neoprene shapes are held in place with spray glue. Then I bolted my Ermax +15 screen back in place using LONGER bolts than the Honda-supplied ones, with a small rubber washer on each button-head bolt. Much nicer, vibration free and damped, and I don't have to worry about a short bolt working its way out and falling out somewhere without me noticing it was loose.

I like this much better : }

As I was riding to the dealer to get my Avon Trailriders mounted I had a rare sighting: a local riding an '83 Honda VT500 Ascot just like this one that I saw in Glacier NP earlier this year, other than it had tires more suitable for off-pavement. Very cool compact machine it was -- Honda has designed so many neat machines!

Well, guess I will just wash mine this weekend and let her sit clean for a bit. Off riding for a bit with broken hand due to a wall monitor (55" TV with ceiling mount) falling on me at work and crushing my hand. It happened in the HR Call Center, which means I didnt even get back to my desk before I had a Worker's Comp call on my phone. X-Rays already taken, and specialist scheduled for Monday.

I don't recall seeing anyone offer this method to get the front tire off the ground for removal using the center stand (though it's likely a standard) so I thought I'd offer my approach with two 4' 2x8 boards, a couple fittings, and my tie down straps. Now for replacing an overdue front tire.

Stopped in Charleston and watched the Nov 11 celebrations. Bunch of Harleys parading... and 3 Kawa Ninja. No NC [emoji22]

Then went south to Jacksonville. Going downtown now.

I got to go for a ride while the kids were in school. It's November 7th and 63 degrees out. Not a big deal for some, but I'm in Wisconsin.:D Have to enjoy it while it lasts.

I was out along the Wisconsin River Highway 60 route that day and it was awesome. Rode a loop, 33 on the north to wildcat mountain / cashton Amish country. Amish kids love motorcycles! South on 131 to 60 then back east home. Hit up 3 rustic roads!

I was amazed at my first change too. I am convinced one could go a lot longer between changes like the valve adjustments.

I was surprised too. Once I hit 10,000 minkes I'm going to do a 10,000 mile oil change and have it tested to see how long t6 is good for with my driving habits.
