Got it! I am planning on leaving Thurs, too. About when are you coming through?

Edit- just mapped Low Gap. It's only about 10 miles from Marble Falls! Cool...

It's 20 miles from the Hub....10 back to Jasper and 10 west on Highway 74. You can make a loop back to the Hub without back tracking by going through Ponca......Oh hell, it doesn't matter. They are all good roads.

Yes, they are all good roads. In fact, I Iook for Arkansas to be the next big biker destination. Already people are talking about Deals Gap as the
" I did it because everyone said I had to" place.
I did it. It is great. But not the be-all end-all. Bug Dr. showed us as good roads as any around The Dragon. North Carolina does have great vistas.
All places on Gods green earth are great . But Ark. Is greater than a lot!
I'm hyped. Can you tell?

What the Tail of the Dragon and Deals Gap have is better PR. Leave it that way or Arkansas roads will get crowded too.

Tell the secret to close friends, but don't advertise broadly.

The two most advertised roads are the Pig Trail and Highway 7. Every time I talk to someone on a cruiser I make a point to tell them about those two roads like they are the only good roads in the state. I don't mind giving up two roads to keep the rest hidden from outsiders. We don't need any more rolling road blocks than we already have here in the state.

You guys be safe on the Hangout this year. I was up that way earlier this week and there's still lots and lots of dirt/sand in the road and holes large enough to swallow a NC. We've had some good rains but it washed the sand and dirt to lower areas and then just left it sitting. Some spots had piles about 3" deep. Seems it all settled in what was the path of travel. Not a big deal, just keep your eyes wide open.

Thanks Ed.
I'm going to give you a plug. Ed is a MSF instructor and genuine nice guy. I really enjoyed meeting and riding with him last year!

I am planning to go up Thursday. Maybe I need to follow OCR so I can put his bike on my trailer when he runs out of gas or breaks down [emoji2]

I'm just kidding OCR.

Well poo.... I was hoping the rain had cleared that out. Well, we're supposed to get some more rain the next few days, so maybe a second round will clean it up... I hate sand.....

I sure am glad you guys showed us some of the good roads last summer. It was fantastic.

Although I didn't do all of them, the ones I did do were grrreat! I'm a little more at ease on the NC this year.
Not saying I won't wimp out, just not as soon.

I wouldn't feel bad. How well you know the bike and how well you know the roads really makes a difference. Just have a good time.

I was made to feel better by our clan. One and all told me to just ride MY ride. I turned around and headed back to Mt.Nebo and found a trail to go on. First time I went off road. I was slow but had fun!

C'mon down belrix, the guys will go ahead and wait at the next turn for you (and me!). Or, let you know where we're headed.

They will never push you. I heard "ride your own ride" many times last year. Pride will push you more than the guys in here. At least
with me, that was the case.

It will be good to see you!

About this time Friday, I'll be recovering from a awesome lunch at Low Gap after enjoying some Shrimp Carbonara.

For those headed in Friday morning, it looks a little nippy, wear your mittens! :)

There will be at least one Razorback fan on the ride :) And a Bammer fan, the one failing of a otherwise great guy :D

Just spoke with Debbie and Randall and the road report is NO SAND! I'm getting stoked, this should be a great weekend!

After all the rain we've had here recently, this weekend looks to be like a small slice of heaven.
Perfect for campfires and riding!
