Finally took off the leaky 705 rear after 7,000 miles and mounted a matching 009 ( the front 009 has about 4,000 miles on it and looks new ).I have had the rear 009 for awhile waiting for the 705 to die.

Live life,be yourself !!!!.

My NC went for it's second boat ride today! Coming home from Hillbilly Hangout III, I chose the long way and found myself taking the free ferry across Bull Shoals Lake on Arkansas highway 125. I was worried at first that the steel deck and ramp would be super slick since I was chasing a rain storm. All went well, and we successfully completed the journey to be greeted on the other side by Missouri route 125, a freshly paved, twisted ribbon of asphalt through the Mark Twain National Forest. I had a road to myself, being the first off the ferry, and I loved every mile of it.

Oh, and what was the NC's first boat ride? I assume, almost 4 years ago, that she made a voyage across the Pacific from Japan! :)

This past Saturday, I went to the Moonshine run. I was going to leave at 8am but woke up with the front deck covered in ice (it got cold Friday night and the rain froze). Waited till almost 9am and left, approx. 125 miles each way, cold and windy. North wind and the warmest I saw the temp was 35'F. With all my gear, only my toes got extremely cold (note to self, electric socks...). Last year, they served about 4000 burgers, this year, about 1000, cold kept the number down. I did see one guy there from Miami FL. (did the 1500 mile in 24 hours for IBA). Others from Mo, Ark, Michigan..

When I left, the temp was 41'F and now the wind was basically at my back and it felt warm (wearing same gear) and my toes didn't get cold. I arrived home at 530pm (ET) with no issues; did get stopped on Hwy 54 by an overturned pickup truck-looked like the driver crossed over to opposite side, hit a driveway culvert, and immediately flipped on its roof-police, firemen, one ambulance, but no one looked like they were in a hurry-I didn't see any occupants in the cab...

Installed the relay kit and sub-harness. Wired up and mounted a GPS mount for my Garmin. Switched GPS mount with plenty of room for next weeks install of a combination 12V power outlet + dual USB port (1A + 2.1A) so have plenty of options for additional acc. Have my phone mount coming so with GPS and phone on the bars and all with power should be ready for a nice long ride. Working on the riding playlist today...anybody got suggestions for some good riding songs (no country pls :D)

I like a small band that travels festival circuits. They have a very neat sound, both old and new. Saxon Moon is the band.

Ladies and gentlemen let's give a big Texas welcome to Saxon Moon!

This is a what I did yesterday: Rode up to the Suches Loop in the N. GA mountains. It's our version of The Dragon. I'm getting better at this. Had my first peg scrape, and it seemed to me like I had plenty of lean left before I lost traction.

Stopped at a nice little reservoir between Dawsonville & Dahlonega.

One year and 8200 miles on Skookum (2015 nc700x DCT) and today, I reached for the clutch lever!!!
Doh!

It's been a while since Ive been on here. Yesterday I installed Racetech Emulators with 0.85 fork springs. Emulators set using the yellow springs with 2 turns out. Set the sag for the forks at 29mm front (using 190mm spacers) and 30 mm rear sag (had to turn lockring nut 5 full turns!)

Just curious, what tyres are you using ?

Excellent...hope you enjoy many miles.
I love the silver wheels, wish I had them on mine.
My old Nighthawk 750 had the red and silver paint scheme and I thought it was gorgeous.

Silver wheels look great! Wish my old 2012 had them.

Look better than the original. Gotta love the $12.50 price, you must of smiled when you found them! What broke, the pin and spring? The old peg looks okay.

Yeah the price was a big factor but your right I'm very happy with the pegs i got, wider and more cushion. The peg in in the pic is from the side that didn't break. I just put it there for size reference. I dropped a 3/4" ratchet off my work bench it weighs 4 or 5 pounds and when it hit the peg on my motorcycle it didn't even slow down just snapped it right off. I actually reused the spring and pin from the original, slightly different then replacement, i installed it with all the replacement parts on one side and decided to reuse the original pin and spring instead.
